Blizzard Dev Sets the Record Straight on Diablo 4's Rarest Item Drops

I've simply stopped playing D4. Moved up from Tier 1 to 3 difficulty and the legendary drops have become much weaker than the weapons and armor I already have. I'm current at level 63 and have beating the main game. Worse, it takes forever to level up. So much so, I've moved on to a series which used to be known for having to grind to level up FF 16.

Perhaps the worst game this year, forget the repetitive combat and else but the constant server login problems, a terrible "live service", freezes, no haptics support, all the praises are useless, this game is terrible, it's a total robbery and does not worth $70, not even $5...

@cassiel not sure about that. I have 90 hours into the game and only had 1 crash. The one day they fixed the login problem and since then i am 100% logged in. If you are having those issues a lot i would see why. My buddy and i play, he got it for PS5 and i got it on Series X and we play with cross play and it works flawlessly. As for Haptics and D4 not having it, that is like 7 or 8 out of every 10 games from 3rd party. Haptics is neat and all but it’s not widely supported. Sorry you ain’t digging it, but it’s a big game right now and will be played for years upon years.

@NoFaceBigFoot i remember that was the worse thing about the FF MMO game. The levels were a grind and a half. Are you liking FF16? I am 50/50 on getting it or not. I am not the biggest FF fan. They just aren’t my thing, but this one with how different it looks seems like something i should give a try. I didn’t try the Demo and i know i should. Just wanted to see how others are enjoying it. @HonestHick I've got 200 hours in it, they've broken the haptics for sorcerer, perhaps you are lucky but there are many reports on freezes, login issues, the infamous DD attack and else, yesterday I experienced 5 freezes, lags and 3 sudden logouts.. as for other games FFXVI is superior in any aspect for PS5, perhaps D4 is for PC and that's fine but very lacklustre and terrible in PS5... sorry

@cassiel wow that stinks, sorry to hear that. Wonder why mine is working so smoothly. Yeah i wouldn’t want to play something that temperamental. I am hearing of PS5’s overheating running FF16, but not sure how true that is. But i watched a few videos on it. I am sure they can figure that out and patch it. Games need to work right, i get things happen here and there. But when the industry releases so many games with big problems, no one wins. Thanks for the update on it. I am a HUGE Diablo fan, really enjoying 4. But hope i don’t run into these issues and they get patch soon. Diablo games get ton’s of patches, so i am sure 4 will be no different and have many changes coming in the future. 😊

@HonestHick False rumors, My PS5 got through the most intense boss battle in gaming history, Ifrit VS Garuda with no problems.
You got to see it live in HDR to believe it.

@HonestHick Yes, I hope that they fix all those issues before the first season pass. I'm still pissed off for removing the haptics with the sorcerer because I specifically created them around the Ice Shards and all the frozen abilities and they are gone. But the login issues, lags, freezes, etc; are the worst. Anyhow, I've got 2 unique items already, lol, and they say that a fresh character is needed for the season pass. I'll come back to D4 eventually in the meantime FFXVI is brilliant, no overheating issues on my end, I think Forspoken is more demanding.
PS: Looking at the support forums it seems that sorcerer class is broken...

@HonestHick Another game “causing” overheating issues… If the PS5 overheating, it not the game. It people having their system shoved in a dusty cramp entertainment center without ventilation.

Surely since it’s an Activision Blizzard game, you can simply pay to win…

This is not rare enough for me, so I will continue to play LOTR: Gollum instead

@cassiel The Sorcerer is powerful. I have 3 characters and the Sorcerer shreds the single player game and bosses way way easier. I do hope they fix those issues soon. I am sure they will. I am lucky like i said. Think I’ve only had the game freeze once. My logins are super fast. Good to hear you are liking FF16. I might get it soon. I am super busy with SF6 and Diablo 4. It’s been a heck of a month of game releases.

@AverageGamer i read that the Boss fights were overheating the PS5. I clean my consoles all the time and they are well ventilated. Haven’t bought FF16 yet, but my PS5 and Series X has never overheated yet. I was wondering if this was just few people reporting that or a real thing.

@Sil_Am that’s awesome. Yeah i always take post’s about things like that with a grain of salt. I have never had my PS5 or Series X overheat yet. But i take good care of my electronics, clean them all the time and they are well ventilated on an entertainment stand. Good to hear this is not a real issue. I need to get FF16 at some point.i am just having to much from with Diablo 4 and Street fighter 6 at the moment. 😊

Anybody going into a diablo game knows that certain loot drops are always going to be very rare. Its the whole idea behind the games mechanics and its that carrot on a stick that keeps gamers playing. I still play diablo 3 (story and seasonal) and i still get drops that i forgot i was hunting for. To complain about something you knew was a key component in the diablo franchise is akin to complaining about the loot boxes in fifa.

I think that's awesome. I don't expect to see one drop for me, but knowing that there's a miniscule chance for one to is really freaking cool imo. Hopefully I can even make it to 85, playing with (hell) fire as a hardcore player right now haha

@cassiel any game that has virtual currency and paid cosmetics in it has no business charging upfront for the game. This should've been a free to play game, if they intend on monetising with microtransactions.

@MattBoothDev indeed, people here were whining about spider man 2 deluxe because of the "ugly suits", a transmog in D4 is about $25 and for the sorcerer they always end looking like "Maleficent" and with all the limited features of PS5, this is my last non PS5 exclusive I get... so far FFXVI has not crashed in 60 hours and plays beautifully using my Dualsense Edge... If a need to play a cheap PC game, I can use NVida GeForce Now

This game that I've finished once and started again is totally broken and needs to be free to play!!!!! Those microtransactions that only affect character appearance are a total betrayal of the fanbase, the DDOS and other server issues should have been predicted ten years ago. And Blizzard never sent me my life size snuggable Lillith pillow either, those clowns. Has anyone seen my fedora?
